Conner and I went on this hike in June of 2013. He was 6 at the time of our hike. Because it was the summer the waterfall did not have much water running over it at the time. I would guess in the spring or late fall there could be a lot of water running over it.
This was probably both of our favorite hikes at the time. It is a 1.4 mile loop down and out of the canyon. It is a little rocky to climb down into the canyon, but it wasn't bad at all. Conner had no problem getting down with my help. I would not take a child much younger than him though. It would be a little too dangerous for them to get down. But for older kids I would suggest it. It makes you feel like you are somewhere else rather than Indiana when you are down there. EXCELLENT HIKE!!!

Conner and I took my friend Brad and his daughter Xavery on their very first hike here in August of 2015. Conner and Xavery were both 8 at the time. We all really enjoyed it. It had not rained for a long while so the waterfall was totally dry, but besides that it was a success, I gave them both a tree id card I had made for them each to find. We did some off trail rock climbing and exploring. The trail was actually pretty busy, We passed a lot of people on this day, which was totally different than the first time we hiked it. Still it is a great hike, with lots to see and beautiful rock formations to climb and explore.
